• Contact customers via phone or site visits to build and maintain good relationships in order to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Maintain existing accounts by taking incoming calls for orders.
• Calmly and effectively resolve customer complaints.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the system and have orders entered within set time frames according to delivery route schedules.
• Assist customers with retailing and advertising.
• Know the product: seasonal and specials and market accordingly.
• Light collections with customer base when applicable.
• Maintain continual awareness of the competitive marketplace.
• Knowledge and experience within the Produce business: in depth knowledge of grow seasons, quality, pairings and marketing strategies

Produce Buyer

Purchase produce for resale. Determine the timing and quantity of items to purchase based on a detailed understanding of products, suppliers, market, quality and forecasting indicators.

• Selects and orders commodities from growers or purchases commodities on open market basing selection on nature of clientele, or demand for specific commodity utilizing knowledge of various articles of commerce and experience as buyer
• Inspects and grades or appraises agricultural commodities offered for sale to determine value and yield and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply
• Negotiate prices from suppliers, establish and maintain those relationships
• Continually assess market competition, track and measure sales and profitability
• Seasonal travel
• Work directly with Dispatcher on purchased commodities to ensure products will get loaded and delivered

• 4-5 years of produce experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – must be able to negotiate with vendors and work with all internal departments
• Analytical problem-solving skills
• Computer skills with the ability to enter data accurately
• Ability to market purchased produce to be sold in order to manage inventory – work directly with sales to ensure ad items or specials are being sold accordingly

Spokane Produce, Inc. is growing and we need Warehouse Workers!

These are full-time, year-round positions with advancement opportunities. Get your foot in the door and get your new career started! Work 4-10s, shift starts at 4:30pm with Saturdays off!

Successful candidates will be able to work in a cold environment year-round, and lift up to 75 pounds of product (from floor to overhead, and vice versa) for 10 hour periods on a daily basis. Forklift certification a plus, but not required. Must be able to read and write in the English language.

Must have reliable transportation, be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen, and continue to satisfy our drug testing policy if offered employment. We are a Federal Contractor and drug free workplace, which includes a prohibition on marijuana use for all employees.
